Sonic Youth

I went to see Sonic Youth this week. It was a great experience. It sure seems encouraging. I mean these people have been reinventing themselves a long time. Now that Sonic Youth have 3 guitars and a bass, they have a more orchestral sound than before. That sounds great though. You can sense it from the way they present themselves that Sonic is all about being a team, its not a band of people fighting over space. Kim Gordon stands comfortably in the middle of the stage, looking really cute. Her vocals float on top of the ocean of noise, although Thursten and Lee sing equally much. I just saw Blonde Redhead the week(or two) before, and I can't say that the comparison is still valid. Blonde Redhead might have had a similar aspect to them when they started out (as Sonic Youth) but now they present something altogether different.
Anyway it was a great show, especially the songs off the new abum, so you should check them out when they storm through your hometown.
