this trip
This trip was good. Really good actually. We started out in Austin, Texas. They have a really interesting culture there. They just wear their overall jeans and cowboy hats, the girls wearing skirts. I made a friend, he is called Lee. These pictures are from his garden. We actually got to play there. The thing was, that we were hanging out in this record shop, and we had all our gear there. Gunni from Mum was doing a gig there. So I was just walking around and started talking to this fellow. He was fixing the sign to the place. It's kind of like an outdoor art gallery. He invited us to go into his house and look at the paintings. He is a really chilled out fellow. You can see him on the last photo, in the corner. So we ended up playing in the garden. Its always nice weather in Austin. Except in the summer, then its too hot. He said he went north in the summer. I got a really good 70's vibe in Austin. It's supposedly very different from the rest of Texas. Its the only left wing town in Texas. Its like an oasis. And I made some friends, who go by the name of Brittanie, Sarah and Paige. They were nice enough to host me and Gestur, the last night. So we had a sleep over. With a movie and everything. We watched You and Me and Everyone we know. Until everybody was asleep. I didnt actually want to leave, but we just left. The next two days were a drive. As the trip to Atlanta is a long drive. And by then, you feel the weather has changed alot. There were a lot of people there. Animal Collective have gotten kind of large by now. They've released like 7 records, and the first two were self released. So those first years must have been really tough. But anyway, playing before these crowds is kind of a different scale from what were used to. Next time we'll tour, we'll probably go by our selves, to like 3 cities or something and play before a crowd of say, 20-50. I don't know, we might tour with them again, who knows? nothing has been decided.
