crash course

today i went to a really interesting lecture. i am on a car course, and today there wasnt the usual stuff on it, so we were sent to the insurance company. we went too Vís, which a huge business building and to a real conferance room. there, some guy started taking pictures of the group, i don't know why. but the lecturist was this nice small guy with a shrill voice. he told us we were going to get some scary propaganda. and he was right. over the next one and a half hour we were given the most mind numbing injection of violence i've seen, and it made the rest of my life seem like a picnic on the countryside. they started with showing us some wrecked cars, a guy had killed 4 friends of his, when he was fooling around at 100 m p/hour. there was a small bus which was wrapped around a tree. there was a small car which had been crushed by a truck. and so on. there were endless examples. pure emotional violence. then they ended with interviews with the families of victims. that was really well done, and you really believed the people they were talking to. those victims were more examples were it wasnt really there fault. anyway, i don't really feel like driving at the moment;). i'll just take the test and then see.

I don't think they do that at driving schools here, but maybe they should! Although I would probably never learn to drive because I'd be too scared of leaving the parking lot after!!!!

yes, it was pretty scary. i'll drive you around, though. don't worry. it's a pretty interesting approach to shock therapy. i felt very numb afterwards.

LoL, maybe I'll take you up on that... although it's not exactly clear from your comment if it is the horror movie you had to watch which is the shock therapy, or your driving which will be the shock therapy ;)

nothing is better then a good horror movie once in a while, especially if you can throw in a decent car crash along the way

Maybe I am a bad person, but those movies always totally crack me up.

It is not the content, so much as the over the top melodrama and the reactions of the other viewers. The traffic school dork will usually get super into it to, and takes his job super seriously, which just spurs me on. A lot of the people there will act sort of all tough too, and it is funny to then see their faces start to pale, but to me I drive ubersafely for the most part so I never feel any guilt or fear when I am watching which I think helps.

BTW, I do NOT reccommend laughing during one of those things unless you want to see the traffic school guy FREAK OUT - funny, in its way, but he also says whether you pass or not.
